George was born a boy but identifies himself as a girl.
George wants to play Charlotte in the school play Charlotte’s Web not just
because he loves the book but wants this to be his way of letting everyone
know. George eventually talks to his mom and his best friend Kelly plans a trip
to the zoo so George can finally be who he wants to be as Melissa. I noticed
the author chose to use the pronouns (she, her, herself) when describing George
which doesn’t let you forget that George is a girl trapped in a boy’s body.
